CablePrice techs seek world dominance
CABLEPRICE HAS TWO TEAMS OF TRUCK TECHNICIANS competing in global professional skill contests in the next few weeks – and another within the next two months.
A team from CablePrice’s Whangarei branch will contest the world nal in Sweden next month – having placed rst equal in the recent regional nal in Malaysia.
e team – comprising Daniel Halton, Tom Hicks, Scott Cann, Braden Olsen and Craig Lucas – worked in 33-degree temperatures and high humidity to take the draw.
And this month Wellington CablePrice techs Aaron Toumoua and Jimmy Hotton will contest in Japan.
e so-called will see the pair compete against 10 other teams in the Category A Commercial Vehicle division – for countries with Euro 5 emission regulations or higher.
It’s the second consecutive year in which a Kiwi team has made it to the world nal. CablePrice says that “having such talented technicians ultimately bene ts the New Zealand truck customer, who can buy….knowing there’s a world-class team of professionals ready to support their investment and business.”
e Whangarei All Torque, All Noise Scania team’s performance to make the global nal is remarkable since Halton and Lucas having only worked on Scania trucks for 18 months. e Chinese team they tied with in Malaysia had a minimum of ve years’ experience.
Another CablePrice Whangarei team narrowly missed winning the global title in 2013 – and a Kiwi team took the honours in 2015.
Another team of CablePrice technicians will represent NZ at the forthcoming Hino global technicians’ competition.
