WHAT SETS STAPLE + CLOTH APART FROM OTHERS?
We offer clean, simple and uncluttered pieces, proudly designed and made in New Zealand using many exclusive fabrics. The new occasion wear is understated, elegant and luxurious.
HOW DID THE IDEA FOR THE OCCASION COLLECTION COME ABOUT?
It was inspired by Rachel, in our team, who got married recently and made me aware of the limited options out there. [It was] this, coupled with many requests from customers in store for bridal and occasion wear.
WHAT ARE YOUR TOP TIPS WHEN IT COMES TO DRESSING BRIDESMAIDS? IS IT WISE TO DRESS THEM ALL DIFFERENTLY?
A bridesmaid should feel happy and enjoy what she’s wearing. The dress a bride chooses for her attendants should be what’s most flattering to their individual body shapes and colouring. If a bride does want all her bridesmaids in the same style, then our Beyond Dress, or the Lounge Slip and Kimono would be perfect. I also believe that a tonal palette looks great in photos.
WHAT’S THE KEY TO KEEPING BRIDESMAIDS HAPPY IN THEIR ATTIRE?
Ensuring they feel comfortable and confident in their dresses is a great way to guarantee that everyone will be relaxed and enjoy the day.
WHAT IF BRIDES WANT THEIR BRIDESMAIDS IN DRESSES THAT ARE FORMAL ENOUGH FOR THE BIG DAY, BUT CAN BE WORN AGAIN?
We believe all of our dresses are appropriate for this and we selected these styles for our range for this very reason.
WHAT MAKES A GREAT BRIDESMAID GIFT?
Something personal. I treasure the gorgeous silver Tiffany necklace that I was given by one of my best friends as a thank you for being her bridesmaid.
HOW CAN BRIDES ORDER THEIR OCCASION DRESSES FROM STAPLE + CLOTH? CAN THEY CHOOSE FROM A RANGE OF OPTIONS WHEN IT COMES TO COLOUR?
The collection is available to view on our website at stapleandcloth.co.nz and includes detailed descriptions and photography. Or you can make an appointment at our Ponsonby Road store in Auckland. We offer consultations for a small fee, refundable upon the placement of an order; a 50% deposit is required at this time. To make the process as simple as possible, we keep customisation to a minimum. We offer five sizes (8-16) in most styles and up to six colour options depending on fabrication.
