FLY, MY PRETTIES

Dance the night away in Cuba, or make your way to islands just a hop, skip and a jump apart

-

D o you love the nightlife? Got to boogie? Cuba could be the honeymoon destination of your dreams. Go for the white-sand beaches, national parks laced with hiking trails, history-rich museums and coffee and tobacco plantations by day, then order a rum cocktail and dance the night away in one of Havana’s legendary salsa clubs. Stay in a swanky resort, or quiz the locals when you arrive − there are ‘casas particulares’ (government-registered private homes) scattered throughout the country, for a truly authentic experience.

INSIDER TIP Don’t buy cigars on the street. If you want to try a quality Cuban cigar, buy one from a government-endorsed store. These are identifiable by their air conditioning, which isn’t just to keep you cool, it also helps preserve the tobacco.
