A little Italy
Valeria Lenskaia married Max Mamaev at Mantells, Auckland, on Thursday, March 5, 2015
Reason for the season
We decided to get married in early autumn so we could host our daytime event in a romantic outdoor setting, yet still enjoy a cooler evening around the fireplace. We’re both European, and when we walked into Mantells we knew we’d found exactly what we wanted. Its Italian style and simplicity influenced our pared-back black-and-white ‘European elegance’ theme.
Family first
My talented dad styled my hair and Mum designed my dress, and thanks to her and dressmaker Elena Makarova, it fit like a glove. Crafted from Japanese silk, it had drop shoulders and a skirt that draped from my hips. Elena also made my fourlayer veil that twinkled with Swarovski crystals and offset my Pasquale Bruni earrings.
Gorgeous gift
My parents surprised us with an incredible performance by dancers Jonny Williams and Kristie Boyd. Their energy set the tone for the rest of the night.
