1. Take baby steps

-

If you long to paint with watercolours or kick off an exercise programme but can’t quite seem to make it happen, think of something new you can easily do today. It could be cooking an unfamiliar recipe or wearing an outfit you’ve never put together before. Start small by setting yourself an easily achievable goal each day and watch the momentum build!

Next, work out the sort of novel experiences that really appeal to you.

“If you haven’t already got a must-do list, write down five things you’ve always wanted to do and choose one,” suggests psychologist Clare Mann. “If that feels like too much, work out what actions you’d take to achieve it. Every little step will bring you a bit closer.”
