SICK OF BEING SINGLE

A FRIEND REVEALS THE FORMER COUPLE STILL LOVE EACH OTHER

- Judy Kean

Brad and Angelina are still in love

It’s been a long year for Angelina Jolie and it has taken its toll physically, emotionally and mentally – and though she split from husband Brad Pitt (53) for the good of her children, the actress and director has candidly revealed she hasn’t liked being on her own.

“It’s been really difficult,“she says of the past 12 months.

“I don’t enjoy being single. It’s not something I wanted. There’s nothing nice about it. It’s just hard. Sometimes, maybe, it appears I am pulling it all together, but really I am just trying to get through my days.

“Emotionally, it’s been a very difficult year and I have had some other health issues.“

Since separating from her partner of 12 years and father to her six children – Maddox (16), Pax (13), Zahara (12), Shiloh (11) and nine-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne, Angelina (42) developed Bell’s palsy and hypertension, while raising her and Brad’s brood. During that time, he worked on his own issues, including alcoholism.

Sources say that Brad has made major inroads to recovering from drug and alcohol addiction – so much so that Angelina is reportedly considering reuniting with her estranged husband.

Ian Halperin (53), the couple’s biographer, claims the pair have met face-to-face since the mid-air altercation that proved the final straw in their union, rumoured to be over the couple’s eldest son Maddox. It took place two months ago at a friend’s home in LA.

“Brad took the first step forward, then they collapsed into each other’s arms,“he tells. “There were a lot of tears. Nothing was left on the table. They had it out, right there and then in this very modest house. In that moment, they decided to make a fresh start.“

Ian claims the pair realised they still loved each other and joked that they were “consciously recoupling“, a cheeky reference to the phrase used by Brad’s ex-girlfriend Gwyneth Paltrow (44) and her

ex-husband, Coldplay singer Chris Martin (40).

Still, Angelina’s top priority is her children. Though the split has been challenging for them, she says they’ve emerged out the other side stronger.

“The children have been amazing,“she gushes.“It’s been so moving to see how much they have helped each other and how much they have helped me. They have really come into their own, and are finding themselves and their voices.“

And both of them are getting back to work – Brad on the set of the blockbuster Ad Astra, while Angelina is gearing up for a Maleficent sequel. Still, it seems the couple are determined to make their relationship work.

Ian adds, “Brad hasn’t got eyes for anyone else and nor has Ange.“
