It’s billed as one of the most fun awards shows of the year, and the 69th Emmys, hosted by Stephen Colbert (53), didn’t disappoint!

In what some have called the Golden Age of Television, movie stars dominated the nominations and winners’ list. Nicole Kidman (50) winning for her incredible performance as a domestic violence victim in Big Little Lies was a standout moment.

The Handmaid’s

Tale took the gong for Best Drama Series, while Veep was awarded Best Comedy Series.

The US’ turbulent political climate was reflected during the ceremony, with many jokes about Donald Trump (71) peppered through the acceptance speeches, and Alec Baldwin (59) and Kate McKinnon (33) of Saturday Night Live winning for their parodies of Trump and Hillary Clinton (69).
