William, Prince of hugs

-

Just like his mother, Prince William is great with hugs, reassuring shoulder pats and warm smiles – but during an engagement last week, the Duke of Cambridge (35) still managed to be surprised by an odd gift!

Four-year-old Archie Weatherall made the prince smile as he handed over a single avocado wrapped in a bright yellow bow, intended for Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge (35), who is suffering from severe morning sickness with her third pregnancy, apparently as a solution to her nausea.

“Is that an avocado?” the prince asked little Archie.

“Oh, Archie, you’re too kind… that’s really sweet of you,” he continued, before offering an aside to his parents, “I’ve never been given an avocado before!”

“He said he’d take it to Kate and see what happens,” said head teacher Christina Lahive.

William had a busy day of engagements as he had earlier visited patients at Aintree University Hospital in Liverpool.

Speaking of his two children, Prince George (4) and Princess Charlotte (2), William told the kids on the wards that George was loving school so far.

“George has been really easy,” he revealed. “He hasn’t said, ‘Have I got to do this for the rest of my life?’” and added, “George rules the roost but Charlotte’s not far behind!”

It seems baby number three might have to do a bit of jostling for their position in the royal household, then!
