Dear Wendyl

Do you have a recipe for cleaning biscuit tins? Our biscuit tins tend to get very sticky as time goes on, and wiping them with warm soap and water is not always successful. Many thanks, Rosanne Hi Rosanne, First of all, congratulations for still using biscuit tins in this age of plastic containers. One of my old books suggests using a potato and salt. Cut the potato in half and dip in salt, then rub this on the inside of your tin. Rinse off, then dry as well as you can. To make sure it is completely dry and won’t attract rust, stuff the tin full of newspaper and wrap the outside of the tin in newspaper. Leave for half an hour, then take the newspaper out of the tin and place it in an 100°C oven for 15 minutes or until it is completely dry.
