MY BOOKS

-

Food personality Julie Biuso is the author of numerous cookbooks and collaborates with her daughter Ilaria on a blog called Shared Kitchen. My favourite book ever is... Kahlil Gibran’s The Prophet. I bought my first copy in London in 1970 for 80p.

It has stayed with me for all these years. I’ve consulted it to help clarify my feelings on friendship, on giving, on love, joy and sorrow, to help find my way when I felt lost or at a crossroad. Simple, wise words and sobering to read. My book of the moment is… The Violet Hour by Katie Roiphe. It centres on the last days of five great thinkers, writers and artists, as they come to terms with the reality of approaching death.
