FROM THE heart
Just days after undergoing emergency open-heart surgery, the Terminator himself has a message for fans – “I’m back”.
But we suspect Arnold Schwarzenegger (70) will be back to resting soon after having a heart valve replaced in an operation which lasted hours due to complications. Arnold underwent the same surgery in Mexico back in 1997 to replace a partially blocked pulmonary valve.
The former Mr Olympia and Governor of California expressed his gratitude to medical professionals once he was given the all-clear. “It’s true: I’m back!” he said. “I went to sleep expecting to wake up with a small incision and woke up with a big one – but guess what? I woke up and that’s something to be thankful for. Thank you to the doctors and nurses. And I’m truly filled with gratitude for all of the kind messages.”
