Thinking of Judy

-

It was very moving to read about Sharon and Murray

Major’s experiences on the Wahine, with Sharon having to twice throw her baby into the arms of strangers. I have always remembered the story of another little baby on that terrible day because her father also handed her to a stranger in a life raft, saying, “In case we don’t make it, her name is Judy Bull.” I was just 17 at the time, but that really impacted on me. Every year when the Wahine anniversary comes around, I think of Judy Bull and hope she has had a happy life. C Gratton, Auckland
