New Zealand Woman’s Weekly

This week’s model Fiona shares her beauty tips with us… As we head into cooler weather, how do you feel your skin changes? My hands are absolutely killing me! I live on a farm and spend a lot of time outdoors, where the chilly air has already taken its toll. I’ve found an overnight remedy, though. I plaster them in a manuka honey balm and load extra onto areas where my fingers have cracked, then top with plasters. They literally heal overnight.

Do you tend to change your make- up routine with the change of seasons? I don’t as far as colours are concerned but I do tend to swap out my tinted sunscreen that I wear in summer with just a foundation that has a bit of sun protection in it for winter.

Have you got any new favourite product finds?

Yes, a very cool brow kit by Benefit Cosmetics with everything I need to define my eyebrows. It has some brilliant eyebrow make-up products in it that I’ve been experimenting with including a fabulous setting gel, which is one of those things you didn’t realise you needed until you start using it. It makes such a difference.

Are you a bath or shower girl in winter? Shower for sure. I’ve just moved into a new home with a huge walkthrough tiled shower that has an overhead rain shower as well as a traditional shower head – it’s so beautiful. I can even look out the window while I’m showering and see my pony grazing in the paddock!

When it comes to putting on make-up, what do you struggle the most with?

I struggle with my eyebrows, but I’m getting better thanks to my brow kit. Luckily, it came with plenty of step-bystep instructions.
