I was wondering if you have a natural remedy for nits? My grandchildren are staying with me and I noticed the youngest has them, but I’m reluctant to use chemicals on her head. Sadie

Dear Sadie,

Here’s a remedy that was sent in by a reader, Lorraine: “Dear Wendyl, my hairdresser daughter told me of a nit treatment, which I used on my granddaughter with great success.

1 cup coconut oil, soften

if necessary

1 cup apple cider vinegar Mix together, then apply liberally to the hair. Leave for 5 to 10 minutes, then shampoo out and comb well. One treatment was all that was needed and she has never had them again.
