This week’s model Marlene shares her beauty tips with us…

What beauty traits have you inherited from your mother? I’ve got my mum’s nose but the rest of me is more like my dad!

What’s your earliest memory of your mother using skincare and make-up? Mum always did her make-up beautifully before she went off to work and was particularly fond of bold lipstick. I remember her using Ponds Cold Cream to take off her make-up in the evening and

Oil of Olay was her moisturiser of choice.

Did she have a signature scent? Yes, she did. I used to travel overseas for modelling and I would always bring a bottle of her favourite perfume back with me – it was Opium.

What is the best beauty advice you received from your mother? Be careful in the sun. She told me she used to cover herself in oil and bake herself – she didn’t want me to make the same mistake.

How do you feel you’ve influenced your own daughter’s beauty routines? My daughters are aged 15 and 13, and I’ve really tried to delay their use of make-up. They have young, gorgeous skin and don’t need it. I’ve also taught them not to over-complicate their skincare – just cleanse and moisturise. And, just as my mum taught me, be careful in the sun!
