IN HOLLY’S WORDS

-

What does it mean to you to be selected for a scholarship from the Tania Dalton Foundation?

To be selected for a scholarship from the Tania Dalton Foundation means a lot. Most importantly, it’s been great to be recognised as a New Zealand athlete competing and achieving on the world stage. Tania was an amazing sportsperson and it’s an honour to be part of the first group of scholarship recipients for the foundation. Financially, the scholarship has been a huge help for me and my family to help with the costs of tennis.

How has Adine helped you so far?

Adine has competed at the highest level possible playing for her country and knows what it takes to become a top athlete. Although tennis and netball are different sports, they require many of the same disciplines both on and off the court. It’s comforting knowing that Adine understands the pressures and is always there to look out for me and support me along the way.

What’s your big dream?

My big dream is to compete in the main draw of a Grand Slam and become a professional tennis player. Short-term and on the way to achieving this dream, I’m working towards attending a division 1 college in America as it would be a great stepping stone leading into the professional circuit.
