Kelly Clarkson has applauded fellow American Idol winner Carrie Underwood for speaking out about a series of miscarriages she has suffered.
Country star Carrie (35), who is expecting her second child, has revealed that she miscarried three times in under two years before getting pregnant again with husband Mike Fisher (38). Carrie, whose son Isaiah is three, says she was devastated – and angry.
“I was like, why on earth do I keep getting pregnant if I can’t have a kid? Like, what is this? Either shut the door or let me have a kid.”
Meanwhile, Kelly (36) became tearful when talking about Carrie’s pregnancy. “I’m so happy for her.”
The Voice coach, who is mum to River (4) and Remy (2), says she emailed Carrie to tell her she was amazing. “I was like, ‘It’s so important that you talk about it. I know you don’t have to because it’s hard, but it makes women who feel inferior... it makes them feel comfortable and know that people go through it.’”
