$100 WINNING LETTER

Believing in Olivia!

The recent article about Olivia’s crushing cancer diagnosis is a sad read

(24.0 9.2018), but at the same time it’s inspiring. I admire Olivia’s strength, courage and positivity to carry on with life normally. Cancer can happen to anyone, rich or poor, famous or ordinary. But it’s not always a death sentence. It’s actually a “hope sentence”, as the sufferer hopes for the best, and does everything to s tay optimistic and fight the battle. Olivia has done well beating it twice and is prepared to fight again. With the help of her supportive husband, as a plant medicine man, along with her medical treatment, I reckon she can beat it once more. As the saying goes, “It is often in the darkest skies that we see the brightest stars.” All the best for her and her hubby. E Drake, Christchurch The writer of the winning letter receives $100. Our other letter writer wins a copy of Olivia Newton-John’s memoir, Don’t Stop Believin’ (Penguin Random House, RRP $48). In it, the Australian sweetheart covers everything from Grease to her cancer journeys and her tireless charity work.
