WHO’S KNOCKING AT THE DOOR?

-

Samantha Markle, Meghan’s half-sister, has learnt the hard way that quite often, as one door closes, another is slammed in your face – in her case, literally.

After not being invited to Meghan’s wedding to Prince Harry, Samantha launched a tirade in which she described Meghan (37) as “cold”, accused her of fake waves and smiles, called her “the DuchASS”, while tagging her husband Prince Harry as a “wuss”.

To heal the rift, Samantha (53) decided to pay a private visit to London to clear the air with Meghan. So, of course, she got her publicist, Rob Cooper, to announce it on Twitter.

“Samantha Markle is coming to the UK,” he wrote. “After making numerous attempts in private to arrange a one on one meeting… Kensington Palace has refused to respond.

“This DOESN’T need to be public, we’d prefer to keep this private. Samantha is coming to the UK this week, like it or not.”

Some might take this as a threat, but once in London Samantha did the normal tourist things and bought royal souvenirs, including Harry and Meghan face masks.

Then she appeared on national TV. She told the

Jeremy Vine show that her outbursts had been caused by “the public making a mockery of the family… I was frustrated and lashing out at the media”.

Indeed. But that didn’t stop her from having another pop at Meghan on Twitter. “She has ghosted both sides of the family, she needs to earn our trust – it is not the other way around,” she stormed. “You don’t crap on an entire family.”

Unsurprisingly, when Samantha turned up unannounced at Kensington Palace just a couple of days later and demanded to see Meghan, her request was firmly denied.

A photographer happened to be there to record the stand-off, which ended with Samantha handing over a note for her half-sister to a policeman, who then slammed the gate.

A friend of Meghan’s said: “There’s not a chance in hell that Meghan is going to lower herself and meet with her half-sister. Samantha is kidding herself if she thinks there’s a possibility of getting together with Meghan – or anyone from the royal family.”

As for that note from Samantha, it may well find itself in a royal filing cabinet, or in a bin beside Meghan’s desk.

?? ?? Samantha didn’t let a little thing like a lack of an invitation stop her from turning up at Kensington Palace to demand an audience with her sister Meghan.
