READER LETTER OF THE WEEK

Dear Wendyl,

My grandmother used to make a really delicious strawberry jelly that was a beautiful colour and tasted gorgeous. Everyone makes strawberry jam these days and for the life of me, I can’t find a recipe for jelly. I don’t suppose one of your old books would have one? Hoping you can help.

Barbara Dear Barbara,

I have found you one from a little book published in 1927 called 100 Jams and Jellies, and it seems very easy, so that’s a bonus. Rub some strawberries through a fine sieve, measure the puree, and mix it with an equal amount of sugar. Dissolve slowly over the heat and boil until the jelly will set.
