Can you change your rating for an Uber driver? The driver was excellent but, by mistake, you rated him one star out of five, rather than five stars out of five. You can’t find a way to change it. The lovely man will be perplexed as to why you gave him such a good tip but rated him badly. Yes, it would seem you can. Uber says on its website that to update your rating for a driver, open the trip receipt that they sent by email. In the receipt, select the number of stars you wish to give. Your web browser will display a confirmation

screen with the updated rating you’ve provided. Your driver will not be perplexed by your initial rating because they don’t get to see ratings for specific trips. The rating they get is generated from the average rating of their last 500 trips. Good on you for going to the effort of correcting

your error, but it wouldn’t have affected the driver as much as you imagined. Incidentally, I was critical of the whole Uber operation in a past column. I’ve now experienced Uber all over the world and, for me anyway, their service and their price have been excellent.
