Alan’s bringing the laughs again

-

British comedian Alan Davies has been making people laugh for a living for the past 30 years, yet despite all his success, he still feels like it could all end at any moment.

“I always think that one day someone is going to tap me on the shoulder and say, ‘Right mate, you’ve got to go get a proper job now,’” laughs the 52-year-old.

Alan has loved comedy since he was a boy and now he’s quite literally living his dream. The star says one of the best parts of the job is getting to perform live shows.

His tours have also taken him to Australia and New Zealand, an exciting job perk, he tells. “I love the Wellington Opera House – I’ve been there three times in the past 20 years and the audience is always great.”

His most recent live show, Little Victories, is making its TV debut. Alan tells, “I had a video team filming me on tour, including while I was in New Zealand, but I thought it was just for my own personal records, thinking that maybe I could stick it up online eventually too. But we sold distribution rights and the next thing I know it’s on TV across the world. I’m delighted!”
