New Zealand Woman’s Weekly

FROM THE EDITOR

- Alice O’Connell, Editor nzww@bauermedia.co.nz

It seems truly impossible, but nevertheless, here we are signing off one of our last issues of 2018. My goodness!

This edition is always truly one of my favourites – not just because of the Christmas spirit and that lovely feeling of summer in the air. It’s at this time that we take a look back at the year, and catch up with some of our wonderful Weekly People to find out what happened next in their stories.

There’s always a bit of variety when hearing the next step in their journeys – there are always moments of hope, pride, joy and sorrow, just like the stories we serve up every week.

I’d already jumped out of my seat a couple of months back when I saw Angela Thompson and her husband Bill on the telly – the couple last featured in our magazine when they renewed their wedding vows in a mass ceremony, coinciding with the nuptials of Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.

There, on TV, I watched as Angela got Harry’s attention and passed over the special wedding issue of the Weekly, right into his hands!

There’s a real mix of stories in this issue – ups and downs, just like 2018 has served to us all.

My heart is with our columnist Colin Hogg this week, who shares the very sad news of the death of his younger brother. Your Weekly family is sending you love, Colin!

And to those of you who may be hurting this Christmas, be kind to yourselves and each other. I hope each and every one of you reading this has a truly wonderful Christmas – thank you so much for your company this year and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

Enjoy your week!
