A WRINKLE IN TIME...

My husband and I attended grandparents’ day at our grandson’s school. As we walked into the school hall, along rows of grandparents, he said, “Nana, there’s a lot of wrinkles here today!” I replied, “You’ll have some yourself some day.” He shook his head and said, “No, not me!” I doubt I’ll be here long enough to say, ”I told you so!” Lachlan’s Nana, Hamilton

ODD PAIR

I was sitting in the lounge with my son Michael one day and noticed he was wearing one blue sock and one black sock. I said, “Michael, you’ve got one blue sock on and one black sock on.” He turned to me in all seriousness and said, “Yeah, I know, Mum, and I’ve got another pair the same in my drawer!” Cynthia, Waipukurau, January 24, 2000

QUESTION TIME

Following the election, I took my two grandchildren to the New Lynn Santa Parade in Auckland. After parking my car, my seven-year-old grandson spotted that I had parked in Clark Street. “Did this used to be called Shipley Street?” he wisely enquired. Milo, Auckland, March 13, 2000

KISS AND TELL

Listening to the words of the song, I Saw Mummy Kissing Santa Claus brought some concern to Master Eight. Later on that day, he came up to me and said, “You wouldn’t really kiss Santa, would you, Mummy?” Innocent Guy, Auckland, March 20, 2000
