WHAT a ride!

- Jude Dobson ADVICE

HOW SWEET IT IS TO HAVE SOMETHING OLD BE NEW AGAIN

It’s January – often a time of self-reflection and resolutions. My usual one of getting fit is being put on the actionable list this year, but that’s another story for another day. It’s also perhaps a time to reflect on the people in your life and the relationships (be they personal, family or work) that you have with them. Are you thankful for those people? Say so! Or is it really a rubbish relationship masquerading as something respectable? Fix it or be brave! For me, 2018 was some ride. On the plus side, I created a documentary series on WWI and had the privilege of piecing together stories of some brave men. I met and worked with an amazing group of people. I’m thankful for that.

I travelled – delivering my two big kids to ‘Uncle Sam’ for the year for work and uni, and instead of thinking too hard, I said yes to going to Coachella music festival with friends and our daughters, and their young friends. Great times, good memories, relationships fuelled.

But on the sad side, I lost my dad a few months ago. My lovely, lovable papa. I don’t like the thought of starting a new year without him in it, without having him to talk with, to sit with, to have in my life.

Perhaps you had similar ups and downs. It’s the roller coaster of life we all ride. Change is the only constant. The trick is figuring out how to roll with it.

It’s good to be back!

?? ?? It’s so good to be back! With the start of a new year, now is the perfect time for a change and I truly welcome it all. Feel free to send me any questions and I’ll do my best to listen and offer some wisdom. Do what makes you happy, for example saying yes to going to an overseas music festival!
