Catherine Tyldesley (35), who played Eva on the soap for seven years, took some time out of the English winter to enjoy the sun in Dubai with her husband Tom Pitfield (31) and their three-year-old son Alfie.

The actress reveals that she wasn’t always comfortable in a swimsuit and by age 17, was a size 22 and very unfit. She knew a change was needed.

“I did fitness DVDs at home because I was too embarrassed to go to the gym,” she tells. “As I started losing weight, I felt like a completely different person.

“Slowly, I lost 30 kilos over the course of a year. I had already tried all the faddy diets and nothing was sustainable for life. So I did it in a healthy way.”
