5 tips for GLOWING SKIN

WHILE THERE’S NO MIRACLE PILL, IT’S EASIER TO ACHIEVE THAN YOU THINK

-

Skin with a youthful, dewy glow is something many of us covet. While a complexion that glows can often be linked to a healthy diet and ample exercise, it can also be the effect of some clever skincare.

From toners and exfoliation to creams that include vitamins and anti-ageing ingredients, study up on our top tips to getting your glow on.

1 Use a toner

Ensuring your body is hydrated is a non-negotiable part of glowing skin and this can come in the form of a hydrating toner, which adds a new level of moisture to the epidermis. Best applied to skin that is freshly cleansed, spritz onto your skin before you apply your serum, then finish with lotion or moisturiser. You’ll love the dewy finish a toner gives to your complexion, not to mention the hydration benefits.

2 Strengthen your protective barrier

A nourishing face mask is another step which will aid in your skin feeling enriched and plump. Adding one to your routine as a weekly pampering experience will not only allow you to take some time for yourself, but your skin will reap the rewards of this luxurious addition to your regime.

3 Use vitamin C in your regime

Vitamin C is a wonder ingredient for brightening and promoting luminosity. For this reason, there is a slew of serums and treatment products on offer, especially at this time of the year as the cooler months are the ideal time to tackle pigmentation and dullness in the skin. Vitamin C boosts your skin’s collagen production to give you firmer, plumper skin and smooth out fine lines.

4 Exfoliate regularly

It’s easy for skin to become overloaded with dry, sluggish cells that don’t budge and for this reason, exfoliating is essential. You can either pop into your local spa to have a microdermabrasion treatment, which gives a very thorough exfoliation, or try an at-home version – although it’s more gentle, your skin will still feel like a baby’s afterwards. Tip: Apply to your face while you are in the shower to allow the warm water to help open your pores.

5 Sunscreen

This is something that skin experts will keep saying until they are blue in the face: sunscreen is an absolute essential for keeping your skin in peak condition. Protecting your face from the harsh elements will keep dullness at bay. Arm yourself with an SPF that you can team with your morning moisturiser and remember that even a cloudy day can cause damage. Layer sunscreen under moisturiser, even in the winter to ensure sun protection. You can also look for a moisturiser that has an SPF.
