It’s been on our telly for an amazing 45 years and this week we celebrate the people whose faces we came to trust on Fair Go throughout its long history. Our cover star Pippa Wetzell opens up about her 10 years of standing up for the underdog on the consumer rights show, as well as recovering from Covid and getting her kids involved in filming the show from home! Elsewhere, our Weekly columnist Kevin Milne has some hilarious – and one rather frightening – memories of his 27 years working on the popular programme.

It’s hard to believe it is just a year since Prince Philip passed away, aged 99. As you’ll remember, due to the global pandemic, there was a pared-back ceremony but last week, with restrictions lifted, the Queen and those who loved him were able to say their final farewell in a service the way he wanted. He was her “strength and stay”, and it was only hours before that the Queen confirmed she would be able to attend. You’ll find all the details on page 12.

In our Weekly people stories, you’ll meet Dixie Cook-Tamati who, on December 18 last year, thought she was seeing a swarm of sandflies coming towards her but it was actually hot ash descending from a scrub fire nearby. Having been evacuated twice from her home in Kaimaumau, it continues to burn and is now one of New Zealand’s largest scrub fires in recent history. Despite the threat, in true Kiwi spirit, her wonderful community has come together to support each other.

And don’t miss some very exciting news our columnist Kerre Woodham has to share this week! We will be giving all the details soon, but page 77 has a sneak peek at the exciting adventure she has ahead of her. Here’s a clue – there will be sequins and dancing!

Enjoy your mag and have a lovely week,
