This week in... Woman's Weekly

She was once one of the most wellknown faces in New Zealand, first as a Silver Fern and then as a TV star, but it has been 10 long years since most people have seen or heard from April Ieremia. However, this week she’s back in the limelight as our cover star for a very important reason. A mum of two, April is now part of a campaign encouraging our girls to get moving. It’s an important message for everyone to get active. For her, this means enjoying a morning walk, which is very different from the intense sports when she was younger, but she finds vitally important for her mind and body – something many will relate to.

Elsewhere, we chat with journalist Rebecca Wright who is on our screens each weeknight presenting a news bulletin. From page 16, she shares memories of her time in New York with her daughter Scarlett. Between the special moments, she tells what it was like to report on some of the biggest news events of the time, including getting to know some “Trumpettes” who made her feel like she was in a reality TV show, and the Las Vegas concert shooting, which she says was one of the most chilling experiences of her life.

And if you’re feeling anything like I am, it’s hard to believe Easter is just around the corner! We have some delightful crafts to make if you’re feeling creative, as well as some tasty treats your loved ones will enjoy.

And if you’re missing Kerre Woodham’s column this week, it’s for a very good reason. She’s busy kicking up her heels as she prepares for competing in Dancing with the Stars, but don’t worry, she’ll be back soon.

Enjoy your mag and have a lovely week,
