Celebrating that special mum in your life is always an important time of the year and this week we kick things off with Catherine, Princess of Wales, who shares that despite all the help she is lucky enough to receive, motherhood is not always easy, but we do the best we can. Enjoy reading about the lessons she’s learned from page six.

Elsewhere, Fair Go host Hadyn Jones reveals how his midlife crisis has led him on an incredible running journey. Having lost his father at a young age, his mum Glenyss is a real inspiration who, now 80 years old, also runs and competes. She also shows that you don’t stop cheering your kids on, no matter how old they get – when Hadyn did the Kepler Challenge in December last year, Glenyss was there. You can read more about their special bond from page eight.

We also chat with Tania Tapsell, the second-ever mayor in New Zealand to give birth during a leadership term. She shares how she was elected mayor of Rotorua the same week she discovered she was pregnant! She says it has been an incredible time and feels lucky to do it all.

If you want to spoil the mother figure in your life, or even yourself, then don’t miss our special lifestyle section that includes a delicious breakfast, baking treats, as well as other gift ideas. And if you are one of the many who will feel a tinge of sadness at this time – for whatever reason – our thoughts are with you.

With the coronation just around the corner, we have a 10-page special about what you need to know about the historic event. There is everything you can expect during the celebration, as well as tips about how to enjoy it here in New Zealand, including where to watch it – and don’t miss the special coronation quiche recipe on page 20.

Enjoy your magazine and have a wonderful week,
