Is anyone else finding Commonwealth Games coverage is getting in the way of their ad breaks?

I was looking forward to watching some sport but I’m finding it rather frustrating.

On Tuesday I was watching the women’s cycling time trial and looked away for five minutes, only to find the medal ceremony had been held.

Those girls were quick - but not that quick.

On Friday night there was apparently live coverage of the women’s hockey, but Stuff had already published a story about who won.

It all reminds me of my dear old grandpa, who was an avid cricket fan.

In his later years he thought the bowlers were taking a lot more hat-tricks than usual.

I didn’t have the heart to tell him he was watching replays of the same wicket over and over again.

He would have loved watching the Games, but the relentless ad breaks would have done his head in.
