Volunteers: We need you!

-

If you’ve thought about volunteering your time for a good cause, we’ve got a great invitation for you.

We’re looking to fill volunteer roles as supervisors as well as half-day and full-day volunteers to help us run our NZ House & Garden Tours.

The tour happens early next year – so we’re giving you plenty of notice time to diary it in.

The country’s favourite home and lifestyle magazine, NZ House & Garden is published by Stuff.

The garden tours are a popular annual reader feature, which are being run in conjunction with – and to support – the Breast Cancer Foundation NZ.

In appreciation for your time, we will offer all volunteers an exclusive discount on tickets, a complimentary copy of the latest NZ House & Garden magazine, as well as some treats from the event sponsors.

And of course, you’ll get the envious opportunity to be stationed at one of the fabulous houses on the tour.

The NZ House & Garden tours are Aotearoa’s largest charity house tours and have been inspiring people for the past 13 years. They remain one of the biggest summer highlights for home and garden enthusiasts who enjoy new experiences, and are looking for fresh ideas, all while supporting a good cause.

Each year more than $100,000 dollars is donated to the Breast Cancer Foundation to aid the advancement of breast cancer research and to support local services in the regions where the tours are hosted.

Hundreds of volunteers donate their time to help organise the tours on the day.

Each season four to five tour locations are selected, reflecting the richness in local design, flair and style. Between 8 and 10 houses are showcased in each location and tour-goers leisurely navigate their way on the selfdriven tour.

The tours attract many locals as well as out-of-towners who enjoy experiencing the best in local home and lifestyle trends, while also enjoying the scenery and attractions such as local eateries and wineries.

These annual tours hero the beautifully curated homes and gardens people love to read about in NZ House & Garden, allowing them to step inside the pages of the magazine and experience a captivating mix of indoor and outdoor spaces.

It is a day of inspiration and fun, and the perfect excuse for you to gather a group of friends and make a day (or weekend) of it.

Next year, Clevedon is the location for the Auckland tour.

Our hunt for houses in the Clevedon, Maraetai and Whitford area has taken us from a spectacular Grand Designs NZ new-build, to a colourful creative seaside home . . . with plenty in between.

This stretch of Auckland coastline and rural outskirts features many architecturally designed houses, sprawling estates and wonderful gardens, too.
