Always something to do

-

Stephanie Sharp, 23, freelance makeup artist, hair stylist and actress, lives in Devonport.

How long have you lived here and where are you from?

I’m a North Shore girl, born and raised. Describe your neighbourhood.

There’s always something to do, whether it’s having lunch at a cafe, going to the new

Devonport Library, or walking along one of the many beaches.

What is your earliest memory of the Shore?

My older brother and I were always involved with sport when we were younger and my earliest memories include watching him play cricket and I would play hockey.

What are the greatest advantages to living here?

Everyone knows everyone so you never go a day without seeing a friendly face, even if it’s at the supermarket.

Where is your favourite North Shore beach and why?

It’s hard to beat Cheltenham Beach. Grab some fish and chips for dinner, take a picnic blanket and spend hours looking at the beautiful view. Who is the person you admire the most and why?

My recently passed grandmother is the person I’ve always admired most. Born in London in 1919, she lived through some of the toughest times including the Great Depression. She was an incredibly intelligent business woman and played a major part in my upbringing and the way I am today.

What do you like least about the Shore and how can we fix it?

With Lake Rd being the only way in and out of Devonport, transport is the biggest issue. More affordable public transport running more frequently could help with congestion.

Where is the best place to have a meal?

I can’t go past Torpedo Bay Cafe at the Navy Museum. Great food, amazing views over the water and always friendly service.

What are you doing this weekend?

I’m celebrating my best friend’s birthday, so I’m taking her out for our favourite breakfast – crepes.
