Rockabilly set to shine
It’s been a big year for Rockabilly Show and Shine.
Over the last 12 months the club has pimped a car through Make a Wish, run a Blanket Bank cruise, raised funds to help a local woman through her husbands last days fighting cancer, and taken a 14 year old boy with hydrochephalus on his first classic car cruise.
Next weekend, the club brings it’s biggest and brightest weekend with the New Brighton Rockabilly Show and Shine.
Hundreds of cars are expected, from hotrods, classic American and muscle cars to motorbikes. You’re welcome to bring along your own American or European classic. Motorcycles are also most welcome. Or just come along and admire the automobiles. The pimped charade of Enya Beynon will be on show, and is the ‘honorary’ Japanese vehicle in the show.
New Brighton’s weekly Seaside Market will be relocating from Brighton Mall for the day, bringing the 80plus stalls to the grounds, plus a great selection of food. The Pistons and The Starlets will play their rockabilly best, and the Belle and Beau competition will bring out the shine in everyone.
A true community event, the New Brighton cricket club is providing public carparking on their grounds for a gold coin donation, with funds going towards rebuilding the clubrooms.
All proceeds from the day go back into the New Brighton Community.
