Ready to race ... mostly.

- KIM NUTBROWN

We are just two days out from completing our first challenge – the Heller’s Pegasus Fun Run.

My six year old son is excited. He’s running it with me along with my four year old daughter and the baby – although he gets an easy ride. My son tells me he plans on winning it. I’m not sure where he gets that from...

It’s not over yet, though; we are still only 4 weeks into the Snap Fitness 8 week challenge.

We had our team personal training session on Friday afternoon, after a busy morning hanging out in the Hurunui. We’d been working from the exceptional Little Vintage Espresso cafe and catching up with amazing people. There were copious amounts of hot drinks and quite possibly the best blueberry and white chocolate muffins anywhere. Not exactly great fuel for a work out.

It was a tough circuit-type training, and Geoff knew how how to get the best out of us. He made us compete against each other.

We immediately slipped into our roles. Emma, always polite and industrious. I just want to be first. And Shannon threatened all three of us – Geoff included – with DCMs (Don’t come Monday) although we did get fired fewer times than last weeks treadmill challenge.

On the whole though, we are enjoying this. We are getting stronger, we are feeling fitter and we are having fun!
