Focus on your own health in 2022

-

Want to get out of the house and move more? This year could be the time to focus on your own health and wellbeing.

Whether you have some body niggles or health conditions that might benefit from some strengthening work or losing some weight, or you just want to make a positive lifestyle change, we could all benefit from taking some time out to de-stress.

Your journey to better health and less stress could start by popping into Snap Fitness in Rangiora or Kaiapoi for a friendly, no-obligation visit to see what they are all about.

There is very little that gym exercise can’t help with, according to Snap Fitness Rangiora coowner Jo Hawley-Smith.

The obvious and well known reasons for joining a gym are weight loss and building muscle. However other reasons include the management of diabetes, arthritic joints, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, heart disease, COPD, and osteoporosis.

Exercise is also known to be an integral part of depression and anxiety management and it’s great as a general stress management tool too.

Both of the local Snap Fitness gyms have great Personal Trainers on site to write the appropriate kind of gym programme tailored to each person’s specific situation. This programme is provided free of charge as part of the gym membership.

If you feel your get up and go has got up and gone, then visiting the gyms might really help. Working on the easy to use resistance gear is a proven way to boost energy levels.

Preparing for surgery or rehabilitating after surgery are also great reasons for visiting the Snap Fitness gyms.

Jo and the team understand that initially gyms can feel a little daunting to some, but encourage people to pop in for a visit. At both gyms, current members are very much from the general population, with a wide range of ages, gym experience, fitness levels, backgrounds, occupations and reasons for belonging. Members range in age from 14 – 80 plus years.

The environment is friendly and non-judgmental, the team cares about your fitness journey, and the members are lovely and supportive.

‘‘Our team is all about helping people improve their wellness, whatever that means for them,’’ says Jo.

Jo encourages anyone who might be interested in improving their health and wellbeing to visit.

Appointments can be made at Snap Fitness Rangiora at 8 High Street on 313 0909 or Snap Fitness Kaiapoi at 101 Williams Street Kaiapoi on 327 7250. Calling in if you are passing is also just fine.
