Closure call
Each year my family has gone to the Cenotaph in Rangiora along with many other locals to pay their respect to the fallen soldiers of all too many conflicts.
This year my wife and I were appalled at the decision to leave the Ivory Street traffic light intersection open unlike previous years.
The resulting flow of traffic and noise left those attending unable to hear and the absence of the traditional silence indicated a loss of forethought on the part of those responsible for traffic management.
Please can this be reversed for 2023 and let us return to an ANZAC service that shows the respect and dignity that it deserves.
