EXPLANATION

In regard to ‘‘Closure call’’ in last wee’s Northern Outlook, due to Covid community transmission, up until recently the RSA weren’t going to hold commemoration events which would have been unfortunate as they’re valued by our community.

The RSA worked hard at short notice to arrange 10 events throughout the Waimakariri District. These were excellent events and well attended.

Of the 10 events the Council received a small amount of feedback about traffic management at the Rangiora service – specifically relating to thēIvoryA St intersection remaining open and traffic noise that affected the service for some attendees.

We have taken this on board and Mayor Dan Gordon has discussed the feedback with the RSA and we will work together with them to turn this around for next year. – Council spokesperson
