Outfitting kids with shoes
An initiative has been launched in North Canterbury to provide quality warm shoes for our young people in need .
The amount of children going to school without is alarmingly high and staff at Mike Pero Kaiapoi and Amberley believe that a small act of kindness can make a significant difference in a child’s life.
Every child deserves the opportunity to walk confidently towards their dreams.
However, for many disadvantaged school children, even the most basic necessities, such as a pair of shoes, remain out of reach.
The mission is to collect shoes for these deserving youngsters and help them take confident steps towards a brighter future.
Why Shoes Matter: Shoes are more than just footwear; they symbolise dignity, comfort, and security. Sadly, countless children lack proper shoes, which impacts their self-esteem and hinders their ability to fully engage in school and daily activities.
By providing them with a pair of shoes, these children can have their their confidence boosted , and be able to participate actively in their education. How You Can Help:
1. Donate new or gently used shoes: Clean out your closets and donate new or gently used shoes that are appropriate for schoolaged children. Shoes of all sizes, from preschool to intermediate, are welcome. Remember, even a small contribution can have a
huge impact.
2. Spread the Word: Share this mission with your friends, family, and colleagues.
Encourage them to engage and spread awareness about the issue. The more people who know about it, the greater the
chances of collecting more shoes and transforming more lives.
Collection bins are located at 101 Carters Rd, Amberley Mike Pero, New World Ravenswood, 61 Williams St, Kaiapoi Mike Pero, and Countdown Belfast.
