• Make the most of the domestic market first to test your product or service and build a ‘ war chest' to help you enter a new market. • Do your market research to decide which market will be best for your product or service and which channel to customers you will use. • Visit the market and even visit trade shows before you decide to exhibit. It is cheaper to visit than to exhibit and you can glean a lot of information about competitive products, pricing and who the best distributors are. • Stay focused; don't start exporting in all directions.
