The Canterbury Car Club are in the midst of planning to celebrate the circuit’s 50th Anniversary in conjunction with the Wigram Revival meeting scheduled for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of November 2013.

The Ruapuna circuit at Powerbuilt Tools Raceway has been developed over the years with strong support from volunteers and friends of the motorsport park, and the Christchurch City Council and is a credit to all those who have been involved over the years.

The original circuit was laid in 1963 and in 1993 the extension doubling the length of the circuit, was constructed. Since that time the circuit has featured the top tier motorsport events in NZ including the SKOPE Classic, Wigram Revival, NZ V8 and V8 SuperTourers and is also the home to Motorcycle Canterbury, BEARS and Cams Motor-cycle racing, Pegasus Bay Drag Racing, Rennsport Racing and Drift South.
