NORTH CANTERBURY CLASSIC GATHERING

This new event may start as a small gathering, but organisers hope it will grow over the years. Open to all vintage, classic and muscle cars, as well as hot rods, motorcycles, caravans, boats, etc. Food and drink will be available in the café. Normal gravel car park for spectators – or park on Ashworths Beach Road and walk in. Free entry for all. Only alcohol purchased at the bar may be consumed on the premises, no BYO. No smoking and no dogs. Due to the nature of the ground, all the above must be strictly adhered to.
AROHA CRUISE IN

Postponed from original October 2 date, this event will see the main streets of Te Aroha lined with hot rods, classic cars, motorbikes, retro caravans and interesting vehicles. VIP Entry of $45 gets you a custom-designed T-shirt, entry to the VIP parking area, and VIP ONLY entrance. Standard vehicle display entry is $10 online or $15 per car on the day. The 2021 Mini Nationals will be held Labour Weekend and the programme will include several activities at Mike Pero Motorsport Park, Ruapuna including a motorkhana, funkhana, cruise session and track session. On Sunday, the Minis will gather at Riccarton Racecourse for the Show & Shine, with visitors encouraged to drop by and check out the cars.

NZ MOTOR CUP 100 YEAR CELEBRATIONS

100 years ago on March 5, 1921, the first New Zealand Motor Cup race took place on Muriwai Beach, Auckland. Celebrating the centenary of this event, a special event planned by Motorsport New Zealand, NZIGP and the Historic Racing Club will take place at the Muriwai Surf Club. Gates open for the public at 8am on Friday, November 26, with a chance to view past Motor Cup winners. At 9.30am the cars will be on the beach. Advance tickets are now on sale at $50–75 on the gate (if not sold out).

LAKE FERRY EXCURSION

2021 marks the 41st anniversary of the annual Lake Ferry Excursion, organised by the Sunbeam Car Club of NZ (Wellington).
Meet at the Fell Museum at 11am for an 11.30am departure from Featherston to Lake Ferry – driver’s briefing at 11.20am. The hotel at Lake Ferry have confirmed they will be open and will have food available, or you can bring your own picnic lunch.
