Tororaro (Muehlenbeckia astonii)

NZ Gardener - - In Season -

This distinctive endemic native is now endangered in the wild, so all the more reason to plant one and be able to enjoy those crazy zig-zagging wiry branches which support tiny deciduous heart-shaped leaves if you look closely. Wiggy wig tree is one apt nickname for this wonderful mound of fuzz.

It’s great for children and is not averse to a bit of clipping.
