Flowering currant and tulips

NZ Gardener - - In Season -

Ribes sanguineum has become a weed along waterways in some parts of the country but you will often see it in old cottage gardens where it was valued for its unmistakable spring scent. I came across this magical little glade in an old lady’s place recently. Not sure of the tulip’s name but what a whopper and the gentle tassels of the currant make the perfect complement to these busty bowls of raspberry pinks.
