Fuchsia ‘Genii’

This combination of violet, cherry and gold is not for the faint-hearted. Fuchsias are stalwart shrubs of the summer garden and notable for their performance in shade, but this unusual gold-leafed cultivar needs strong light to get the best foliage colour. ‘Genii’ is hardy but it pays, in inland areas, to mulch the root zone with bark or fern fronds to keep the frost from the roots.
