Jessica’s advice on decorating

NZ House & Garden - - HOMES -

• Avoid fashions in furnishings. Furnishings aren’t a seasonal wardrobe. • Live in the house for a while before you decide how to decorate. Don’t rush to finish everything at once. You should always be adding to a room and a home. Bunny Mellon (American gardener, art collector and philanthropist) famously said: “Part of creating is understanding that there is always more to do; nothing is ever completely finished.” • Don’t be afraid of making mistakes. Things will go wrong, it’s not rocket science – it’s decorating.
