Will Clinton-Baker, a joiner, put in plenty of late nights creating the kitchen he and his wife Phoebe designed. Will was frantically busy at work while his family’s new home was being built, so time was tight, Phoebe says.
The vision: “We wanted a kitchen that showcased timber in a modern black setting.”
It’s hard-wearing: “The matt black ply panels from Prime Panels are a key feature. People think black is hard to maintain, but it just wipes clean. The Dekton stone top is amazing – it’s heat-rated and I love being able to put things from the oven straight onto the bench.”
We love: “The Astra Walker bronze tap from The Kitchen Hub. It will gain a patina as it ages and start to look more organic.” Judges’ comment: “Lovely detail in this kitchen. A very clever, functional space pulled together on a limited budget. The shelves styled with plants and pottery are a great finishing touch.”
