WHY WE LOVE ROUND RUGS

Transform a space with a large circular rug

-

Need to fill an odd-shaped space or simply make a statement on the floor? A round rug should be your go-to. Laura Furey, managing director of Designer Rugs, says they’re great for areas where there are multiple entrances, because a round rug gives a sense of flow in all directions. A round rug can be used to define a small seating area with one or two chairs; they’re also handy in apartments where space is tight. A patterned round rug will become a focal point, and is an excellent way to bring in colour and texture without committing to wallpaper or a large piece of art. “Always make sure the size is balanced within the space,” says Laura. Mark out the circumference so you can see how the size will look in the room. If a rug is too small if will make everything else look out of proportion.
