Colour cues

-

“For me, the look of the interior always starts at colour,” says Greer. She takes cues from her art and this time she wanted to include some more “gutsy, punchy” colours. “I put the gruntier colours in the kids’ rooms [Rafferty’s room is pictured on this page] and kept it lighter in the living spaces, but the stronger colours still come through in furnishings so it’s cohesive and flows.” Riley was determined not to have any pink in her room, says Greer. “She was adamant. She didn’t even want a dusky pink cushion.” So greys, greens and charcoal bring both Riley and Rafferty’s rooms to life. The exterior was considered too. “I wanted the exterior to have a bit more of a statement. It needed a punch of colour.” Greer’s attitude is simple: “I love paint, it transforms a space, so I’m not afraid to change it up.” >
