A closer look

Design classics The LC2 chair by Le Corbusier, one of the couple’s many classic chairs, mostly collected by Barry. This one was bought together. “Barry sees chairs as almost like sculptures,” says Deborah.

Industrial style The Tom Dixon Jack floor lamp: “You can stack them, you can sit on them,” says Deborah. “I’ve now started sitting on it. It’s quite comfortable but it’s fair to say you perch on it rather than relax on it.”

Graphic looks “It’s an outdoor piece, it’s metal and it’s designed to rust,” says Deborah. “Because Barry’s a graphic designer he likes typography. He bought this some time ago and finally found a place for it.”

Cool collections A wooden Eames House Bird shares a shelf with a metal tui and a pebble lamp. Below is a collection of Alessi products. “Including the kettle, which we can’t use on our induction hob,” says Deborah.
